Abstract

Research into learning and teaching in higher education over the last 25 years has provided a variety of concepts, ways, and findings that are of both theoretical interest and practical relevance. However, learning and teaching styles approach were different and not link with the generation Y that have focus on IT and material whereas the lecturers were less focus on IT. The purposes of this paper were;(1) To identify the extent level of teaching quality;(2) To determine the association between learning and teaching styles of generation Y toward teaching quality; and (3), To identify the impact of demographic on teaching and learning styles. There were three styles had been identified (1) focus on student (2) focus on lecturer (3) focus on material. The survey was conducted among second year, third year and fourth year in BPB course and the information was gathered from questionnaires. Researcher has distributed 300 questionnaires to all the students. Only 184 set questionnaires had been analysed. Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) 23.0 had been used to analyse data. The result showed that the extent level of teaching quality was high. Besides there were positive relationship between learning and teaching styles toward teaching quality with r (184) =0.731, p<0.05. The finding indicated there was significant difference between learning and teaching styles and impact demographic. This research had been identify the student prefer for their learning and teaching styles.
