Abstract

Achieving a high production performance can drive achieving a high organizational performance. High organizational performance are able to company keep it sustain and being a competitive company with other company in future. In this research, researcher trying to identify the influence factors of machine operators towards increasing productivity by using KSA concept. KSA is stand for knowledge, skill and attitude. In this study, the objective is to identify the influencing factor of machine operator towards increasing productivity and to determine method of improving the performance of the machine operator. This study conducted at MICRON semiconductor Sdn.Bhd which located at Muar, Johor. Purposive sampling technique was used in this research and 180 respondent was selected based on Kerjcie and Morgan table but only 165 questionnaire are returned. SPSS was used in this research to analyse the data and correlation and mean was used to find the objective. The result show that all factors (knowledge, skill and attitude) influence in increasing productivity at MICRON semiconductor. From the result, found that all hypothesis are accepted and the objective have been define in this research. The highest correlation value is attitude factor which is 0.701 and the hypothesis is accepted. It is follow by knowledge factor which is the correlation value is 0.565 and next is skill factor which is the correlation value is 0.394. Skill is the factor that show the minimum correlation value which is lower than 0.5. But the hypothesis is accepted because there have significant between skill and increasing productivity. For the second objective, the result shown on what method to improve production performance among machine operator. Based from the worker opinion, the method to improve production performance is worker must follow the job task or instruction and employee should have target in daily production which is achieve the highest mean 4.16 and 3.99 respectively.
