Abstract

ABSTRACT The demand for the halal product is widely distributed throughout the world. This has caused an increase in demand for halal products not only by Islamic countries but also non-Islamic countries. The main purpose of this study is to investigate of critical issues in halal food at Halal certificate company in Selangor. The study is conducted by interviewing about five halal certificate companies. The owners (entrepreneurs) were selected as the respondents from halal certificate companies that run their business in Selangor Halal Hub. In this study shows how the perception of halal certificate companies towards critical issues are influence by market share, government support and monitoring as well as information dissemination. The findings and results show that most of respondents do not have deeper knowledge about Halal certificate and this leads their perception towards implementation of Halal certificate becomes lower.
