Abstract

Earlier studies indicated that the perception of employees on performance appraisal affects their performance. However, most of these studies were conducted in the service industry but not in the manufacturing industry. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to determine the perception of employees on performance appraisal, specifically in the manufacturing industry. For this research, the target location were the manufacturing industries in Batu Pahat, Johor. Data collection for this research was done by using quantitative approach. The survey questionnaires were carried out for this research. The questionnaires were distributed to the employees of the company. This research employs the descriptive and inferential statistic techniques using SPSS software. The result showed that the perception of employees on performance appraisal has been identified .This study is crucial to the manufacturing industry and serves as a guideline for the top management regarding the performance appraisal.
